Missional :

The heart of being missional is to participate in God’s mission (Missio Dei). God is a missionary God. The incarnate and resurrected Christ is the missio Dei. We then are to participate in what Christ is doing in the world (Participatio Christi ). We neither determine our own agenda, nor merely imitate His, but rather participate in His, according to His call and guidance. John 20:21, So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

To sum it up:

Being missional is to love God, love people, serve God serve people. We are to show the love and grace of God by our actions out side the church walls in the culture we find ourselves in.

We are to love our neighbors; the Muslims, the foreigner, the prostitutes, adulterer , homosexuals, our work or school mates, the liberal, the conservative, etc.

We do this by being involved in their lives and culture as friends. We should laugh with them, cry with them celebrate with them, eat with them, party with them. We should be concerned for them, care for them and most of all pray for them. We should feed them, clothe them, visit them, shelter them. We should not judge them, condemn them, but encourage them and bless them.

We should see each individual as created in the image of God and respect them with dignity and justice rather they be black, white, yellow, red or brown, male or female, young or old, sick or well, rich or poor.

As we begin to show the love of God towards others then they will begin to see that love, want that love and return that love to God and others.

The mission of God (Missio Dei) is the redemptive work of Christ working within us for the good of the whole world.
